The Unseen in Action:
Despite its astounding power, science still can't explain everything.Scientists still can not explain the ability to read minds, or the bright light that people see during an out of bosy experience, or the image of ghosts in photographs.
Such paranormal activity is the subject of Parapsychology. In this field, paranormal activity is investigated and assessed for both authenticity and veracity. Paranormal activity can be divided into three groups: physical, out of body , and mental phenomena.
Mental Phenomena is the paranormal activity perceived by the mind. Paranormal evidence can be found in people who are able to:
• read someone else’s mind or thoughts (Telepathy)
• perceive spiritual beings or entities through inner sight (Clairvoyant)
• hear spirits or things which have no known source (Clairaudient)
• smell things that are not present (Clairalient)
• taste things without putting anything into their mouths (Clairgustant)
• intuitively know or feel things such as spirit entities (Clairsentient)
• can tell the future (Precognizant)
• tell someone's past (Post-cognizant)
. tell an object’s history by mere feeling or impression (Psychometric)
Physical phenomena cover activities that are controlled by an entity,or spirit, or the human mind. Paranormal evidence can be found in:
• people who can move objects with their mind (psychokinesis)
• entities, or poltergeists that can move objects and cause damage
• people who can set objects on fire with only the power of their mind (pyrokinesis)
• sicknesses or bodily conditions that are caused by the mind more than in a physical aspect (psychogenesis)
• People who are able to speak with spirits, and even become possesed by them(mediumship)
Lastly, out of body and near death experiences constitutes paranormal phenomena as well. Paranormal evidence can be found in people who have had an experience in which they find themselves:
• Out of body, where they can visit faraway places, or make themselves seen to people without moving from where they physically stand.
• Near death, in the way that they see deceased relatives, and a bright light, as well as glimpses of the future before returning to their bodies.
Such phenomena are usually met with skepticism, so it would be in best interest to maintain an open mind when reading paranormal investigations or cases of paranormal phenomena. Parapsychology is a young field, and its methods are still under constant criticism and scrutiny.
